What instrument do I buy?

Just starting out? Or shopping for a Christmas or Birthday present? Here is a little help in searching for the best instrument for you!

Guitar

Before selecting a guitar, find out what you or your child's ambitions are!

If playing face-melting solos and gut-punching riffs is their dream,  then the Electric guitar might be the instrument for them!**

If your student is looking to get started and may be more of a singer/songwriter, or wants to follow in the footsteps of Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift or their favorite worship artist, then the acoustic guitar is the instrument of choice.

Guitars take practice, dedication and time to learn and some students may decide it's not for them after their fingers start to hurt!  However, purchasing a cheap guitar right off the bat can be more of a discouragement for the student.  Bundles are the best and most practical way to start. Aside from the guitar, you should have a gig bag, strap, tuner and picks.  (You may need new strings at some point but not necessary to start.) Read more below:

Piano/Keyboard

We will provide a keyboard for your student to use in class, however, time practicing at home is necessary for development. If you are just a beginner and looking to try it out, a smaller 66 key keyboard is just fine. Weighted keys are not a requirement, but certainly helpful, especially for our more advanced students. If you have an upright piano at home, please be sure to get it tuned regularly.

Ukulele

This happy little instrument is suited for all ages and backgrounds. Simple to learn and fun to play, it will brighten your mood with every strum. Purchasing a Ukulele depends on you style. They come in four most common sizes: soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone (Listed smallest to largest).

We recommend renting a VIOLIN. More information will be provided regarding violin rentals upon redistration
